Holiday Rental Professionals Seminar

The inaugural Holiday Rental Professionals Seminar was an undeniable success!  A total of 102 attendees met in the Barcelo Atenea Mar Hotel in Barcelona for the two-day event.

Nine hours of educational programming started with an outstanding presentation on the changes technology has brought to travel distribution by Javier Delgado Muerza of Google Travel Spain and ended with a look at Major Challenges for the Vacation Rental Industry by Jordi Schoenenberger of Deloitte’s Travel, Hospitality and Leisure division in Spain. In between these general sessions, two sessions were presented concurrently in six time blocks for a total of 12 breakouts. A third general session about rental restrictions featured a panel of holiday rental agents including representatives from France, Netherlands, USA, Spain, and the United Kingdom, and was well-organized by moderator Jeremiah Gall of Flipkey.   

Even with opportunities to network during multiple coffee breaks, a reception the first day and lunch the second day, attendees had difficulty pulling themselves away from conversations to return to educational sessions. What a wonderful problem to have! A full 95% of attendees responded that they are highly likely or likely to attend the 2013 event.

Attendees represented 14 countries: USA, France, Egypt, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Italy, United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Portugal, Germany, United Arab Emirates, and Czech Republic.

The 2012 Holiday Rental Professionals Seminar was conceived during an organizing event of 40 industry professionals held in Rome, Italy, and is hosted by the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA).
