Ambassador Committee

Committee Description

Ambassadors welcome and engage new members. Ambassadors serve as a peer resource to help new members make the most of their VRMA membership. Goal of committee is to positively affect the member experience building long-term, active memberships.


Individual Responsibilities

Responsibilities/tasks of individual committee members
Participate in committee meetings/conference calls. Understand association benefits, services, and resources. Make personal phone calls to a few members each month as assigned. Follow-up with the same assigned new members at specific intervals of the new members' membership term via email or telephone following the scripted process.



Time Commitment

Number of conference call meetings
Quarterly full committee conference calls. Majority of committee work accomplished independently on monthly basis.
 
Number of in-person meetings
One in-person meeting during the Annual Conference that is in conjunction with serving as hosts for the New Member and First-Time Attendee Reception
 
Number of hours per month
Approximately 2-5 hours per month depending on the number of new members assigned as well as the number of follow-up contacts.

Who Serves

Committee Members
12-15 committee members, both management company and vendor/supplier representatives
 
Competencies/experience required
Minimum of one year membership in VRMA so personal experience with benefits, services, and resources. Must have commitment to make time needed to complete monthly committee assignments on own.  



How to Volunteer 

When does this committee accept new volunteers?
New volunteers accepted throughout the year with the understanding that some training required before any assignment of new members.
