#VRMAEurope Recap: Twitter Style

With another record-setting educational event in the books, here's a look back at the buzz surrounding VRMA's European Seminar for holiday rental professionals in Brugge, Belgium earlier this month.

Thanks to the record 111 attendees from 14 countries who helped to make this event a success. Attendance at this event increased nearly 10 percent from the inaugural event held in 2012.

As the leading voice of an industry that is growing globally, VRMA's involvement in Europe and countries throughout the world will not only help to open up new markets for our members in the U.S., but on a much larger scale, we hope VRMA can begin to unite the industry on a truly global level.

The European Seminar was fully self-supported, with all costs paid for by
event sponsors and attendee registrations. A special thank you to the event's title sponsors CSA Travel Protection and Europ Assistance for making this event possible.

Here's a Twitter-style recap of the 2013 European Seminar.

The Seminar kicked off on 9 December with a networking reception for attendees. The reception took place in the basement of the host hotel, the Crown Plaza Brugge—in an old church ruins from about 1,000 years ago.

Networking opportunities didn't end there. Attendees took full advantage of the chance to connect with each other and offer best practices, tips and support during networking breaks and receptions.

The Seminar offered more than a dozen educational sessions. Topics included latest in holiday rental industry trends, marketing strategies, customer service and more. Attendees shared many of their takeaways on Twitter using the hashtag

Of course, the Seminar wasn't all work and no play. Attendees also took the time to experience the beautiful city of Brugge:

And when the Seminar came to an end, many felt sad to leave the new and old friends they'd made at the event.

And with that, it was a wrap on #VRMAEurope!

Miss a session? Want to revisit what you learned? Presenters were encouraged to provide handouts and copies of their presentations for attendees to reference after the Seminar. Additional session materials will be posted as they become available. Download session materials.
