Since joining VRMA in 2000, Ben Edwards has been involved in numerous industry initiatives. Ben served on the VRMA Board of Directors from 2005-2011, including serving as treasurer from 2009-2011. In addition to being elected President in 2013, Ben is currently a member of VRMA’s Finance Committee and has previously served on the HomeAway Advisory Board Committee, the Board of the Florida Vacation Rental Managers Association and as an advisory board member for Vacation Rental Expo, the industry’s first consumer-based tradeshow.


 

Mike Harrington is the CEO of Resort Realty of the Outer Banks, Inc. in Nags Head, N.C. A VRMA member since 2006, Mike has served on VRMA’s Conference Planning Committee since 2011 and also served on the Certificated Vacation Rental Manager Committee. Mike is currently vice president for the North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS.






 

 

Alan Hammond is the Managing Partner of Holiday Vacation Rentals (HVR). HVR manages 100 rental cottages, fine homes, condominium vacation club resort and condominium associations. Holiday Vacation Rentals joined VRMA in 2005 and credits the Association for helping the company to develop its professional standards in vacation rental management. HVR was among the first professional management companies in Michigan to rate properties and offer any day check in, travel and property damage insurance, online bookings and has achieved the Michigan Green Lodging Certification designation. Alan is also active in the hotel and resort industry providing advisory, acquisition and disposition services and is the past Managing Director of the Coldwell Banker Commercial Hospitality Group.


 

Under Maureen Regan’s leadership, Seaside has solidified its reputation as a well-known and award-winning vacation rental management company. A member of the VRMA since 1994, Maureen is actively involved in various community, region and state travel and business groups to raise awareness of vacation rentals in her area, and was instrumental in starting Maine and New England vacation rental groups. Maureen is author of the book, "The Rental Game: Winning With A Professional Vacation Management Team.”

Matt Curtis is Director of Government Relations at HomeAway, working on best practices for the vacation rental industry, including government relations. Matt’s past roles include serving on a number of political campaigns, holding high-level positions for various local and state public figures and working as a publicist for 20th Century-Fox and a variety of independent film projects. Matt serves on the U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council, where he developed a policy on vacation rentals that was adopted in June 2012. He has previously served on the Urban Policy Advisory Board at Harvard’s Kennedy School, as well as on the Boards of Meals on Wheels, Austin Pets Alive, Students of the World, Heritage Society of Austin and EPIC-Hill Country Conservancy.



 

With more than 30 years in the travel industry, Lee Hughes brings a significant and diverse travel background to travel insurance. He spent 10 years at United Airlines in sales and management positions on the West Coast. In the sales division, his time was devoted exclusively to incentive and group affinity charter sales. Entering the travel insurance industry in 1982, Lee focused his extensive experience on developing new and underserved markets. He personally developed CSA’s landmark series of travel insurance products for the resort, hospitality and incentive travel industries. At CSA, Lee has direct responsibility for business development within the Property Management, Timeshare and Retail divisions. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and mass communications and an MBA in organizational development. In addition, he received a Standard LifeTeaching Credential for elementary, secondary and junior college education. He is a member of ASTA and SKAL.


 

 

Bob Milne serves as President of Wyndham Vacation Rentals North America. In this role, he is responsible for leading and growing Wyndham’s North American rental businesses, including such brands as ResortQuest, Steamboat Resorts and The Resort Company. Bob has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and resort property management. He began his career in the sales and marketing department of Steamboat Resorts in 1985, holding several positions of increasing responsibility before becoming president and ultimately buying The Resort Company. In 2007, he sold The Resort Company to a private equity firm, staying on after the sale as both a minority owner and CEO. During his tenure, Bob grew The Resort Company into a leading vacation rental management company with approximately 1,000 rental units in the most sought after Colorado mountain destinations.


 

Steve is the managing director and owner of Vacation Rental Pros Property Management, LLC, managing more than 600 properties throughout Florida, including St. Augustine Beach, Venice and Palm Coast. Steve has been involved in several rental restriction battles including a favorable landmark legal ruling in Venice, Florida. Steve currently serves on the VRMA Board of Directors, the Government Affairs Committee and the Finance Committee. Steve is also past Board member of the Florida Vacation Rental Managers Association and served as Chair for FVRMA’s Conference and Member Government Committees.

Jodi Taylor Refosco has worked in the vacation rental industry for more than 15 years focusing on reservations and customer service, marketing, and owner relations. She has been active in VRMA for more than 10 years and has spoken on numerous topics in customer service, increasing property repeats, and designing new profitable services at a number of conferences. She currently owns Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations with her husband, Joe, and brother, Chad. They manage over 175 properties and 75 non-renting properties.

 

Carole Sharoff has been in the vacation rental industry for 30 years and has been a VRMA member since 1994. She was a founding member of the New England VRMA and now serves as Chair. Carole is heavily involved in her local community, currently serving on the Professional Standards Committee for the North Shore Association of Realtors and on the Boards of Directors for the Gloucester Rotary Club and Discover Gloucester. In addition to numerous other community leadership roles, Carole has served as chair of the Cape Ann Business Referral Group and as chair of the Tourist Committee for the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.


 

Tristan Webb is a Regional Manager for Vacasa in Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah.  He has been involved with VRMA for over a decade serving on the "Switch", Technology, Public Relations, Getting Away Together committees and on the Board of Directors. He has also been an active participant  of various government, technology, website, and marketing committees with Ski Utah, Visit Salt Lake, Park City Area Lodging Association. Park City Chamber, and Utah Tourism Industry Coalition.

With more than 14 years of experience as a hospitality professional in vacation rental management and marketing, Heather currently manages 60+ homes in the coastal San Diego communities of La Jolla, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. Heather is currently working with other VRMA members to build an alliance of vacation rental managers in California. Heather has been involved in numerous other VRMA projects and committees, including serving on the VRMA Ambassador Committee and on the Membership Task Force.
