There are a number of taxi services operating from Malahide. The Grand Hotel recommends you book your taxi the night before departure in order to avoid possible delays. Some useful numbers are:
Malahide is well serviced by public transport links, both bus and rail.
The most frequent bus service is the 42. It departs from the centre of the village to Eden Quay in the city centre. (200m, out Hotel gate, through traffic rights, on the left, opposite church)
The 32 service departs from near the Tennis Club. It takes the Coastal route to Lower Abbey in the city centre. (50m, out Hotel gate, at Tennis Club on right)
The 102 bus service runs from Dublin International Airport to Malahide. This service extends as far as Sutton DART Station.
DART (Dublin Area rapid transport) runs from Malahide Station to all city centre stations and to all stops to Bray. (210m, out Hotel gate, through traffic rights, on the right, after Church)
From Dublin Airport
From the Airport exit, proceed straight ahead onto the M1/N1. Take the Malahide exit onto the R139 (formerly N32) for 4km. At the Malahide Road junction (Landmark: Hotel on left and Tesco on right), turn left onto the Malahide Road, R107, and drive 5km to Malahide.
The 102 bus leaves outside the Main Terminal building for Malahide and Sutton.
From Dublin City Centre
From O'Connell Bridge heading north, turn right onto the Quays. Turn left at Liberty Hall to Amiens Street. Continue to Fairview, stay left and turn on to the Malahide Road, R107, after passing below the pedestrian bridge. Follow this road for 10km to Malahide.
Alternative Route (Scenic and only 5 minutes longer): At Fairview proceed straight ahead along coast road for about 8km, turn left at sign for Malahide. Proceed straight on this road, only turning right at the small roundabout at Portmarnock. Continue straight on to Malahide, Hotel will be on your left.
Heading south on the M1, take Exit 4 marked for Malahide. At the roundabouts, follow the signs for the N1 Dublin. At the Malahide Roundabout, take the first exit and follow this road to the T junction. Turn left toward Malahide village, stay straight and the Grand Hotel will be in front of you.
From all other main roads (N4, N60, N6, N7, N72, N8)
Join the M50 motorway and head northbound. Near the Airport, take the Malahide exit onto the R139 (formerly N32) for 4km. At the Malahide Road junction (Landmark: Hotel on left and Tesco on far right), turn left onto the Malahide Road, R107, and drive 5km to Malahide.
