This privacy policy identifies the ways in which the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) uses and protects any information that you give to VRMA when you use this website, including information provided in the member database.

VRMA is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, including the member database, it will be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

VRMA may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. This policy is effective as of March 20, 2015. 

What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Company name, contact information and other demographic information, such as type of company or number of units managed
  • Name, job title, and contact information of company employees
  • Demographic information such as zip code, gender, preferences and interests
  • Information on how you found our organization
  • Other information relevant to membership, event registration, customer surveys and/or offers 

Our website uses cookies, web beacons, and other technologies.  Cookies are small text files that are stored by your browser that track browsing behavior, but do not collect or store personally identifiable information.  These technologies help us to analyze how users navigate around our website so that we can make improvements to the user experience.

We may allow third party service providers to use cookies on our website to provide us with analytics data described above.  We do not share your personal information with those third parties.

What we do with the information we collect

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with better services and resources.

How VRMA uses this information:
  • To promote sound internal record keeping.
  • To improve our products, resources and services.
  • To contact our members and visitors with newsletters and emails about events, resources, industry news, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address and contact information which you have provided.

How VRMA may share information
The Board of Directors authorizes the following related to the use of VRMA’s membership information:

  1. Membership information may be used by members only as it relates to their membership interest, whether commercial or non-commercial. However, VRMA does not authorize use of membership information for any product, service, or event that competes with VRMA’s own products, services, or events.
  2. Membership information gathered from members through VRMA’s online directory may only be used within the parameters stated above.
  3. The Executive Director is authorized to rent VRMA’s mailing list for one-time use to members that have a product, service, or interest to sell or promote to other members within the parameters stated above. The format of such rental can be in electronic or hardcopy. It is the responsibility of the list purchaser to follow all applicable laws in regards to communicating with contacts provided on the list.
  4. The price of mailing list rental shall be determined by the Executive Director on an annual basis.
  5. Member information may be defined as (but not limited to) the following:
    1. Mailing list rental: VRMA members may opt-out to having their email address included in any list as outlined above.
    2. Event registration lists: Vendors and other attendees may request and/or be provided attendee lists for VRMA events. During the registration process, attendees may opt-in to having their email address provided in this attendee list.
    3. Online directory: Members may self-select the information shown in the member directory search on
  6. Non-members are not authorized to obtain or use the VRMA’s membership information for any purpose.

Your options

We will only send you email messages and email notifications if you have asked to be contacted for a specific purpose. If you decide you no longer wish to receive emails, you can click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each message you receive and follow the instructions for opting out.

You have control over which information is shared by VRMA.
  • You may set your privacy preferences for the public member directory by logging into your account at and selecting “My Directory Options.”
  • You may opt-out to including your e-mail address included in any mailing list provided to another VRMA member by logging into your account at and selecting your preference under “My Profile.”
  • Event attendees may opt-in to having their email address included in attendee lists by selecting this preference during the event registration process.
You also have options about cookies. Though cookies do not store your personal information, and the use of cookies is a standard in the industry, you have choices regarding cookies. You can manually delete cookies through your browser, or instruct your browser to disable cookies altogether.  Please be aware that some portions of the website may not function properly, and your online experience may be disrupted, if you choose to delete or disable cookies.


This website is not targeted nor directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly or intentionally collect any information from children under the age of 13.  If you believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with his or her information, please notify us immediately.
